50/50: Fifty Women, Fifty Stories is a collection of portraits photographed by Lisa Wright, accompanied by the words of fifty extraordinary women. Lisa encountered these ladies during a photography project that took place on December 7, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Funded in part by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. Lisa set out to reveal beauty - not on an external, media manufactured level, but on a human level. Participants were wooed with the question: “Everyone has a story to tell, what’s yours?” The purpose was to share a collection of portraits featuring diverse women with relatable stories that serve as both art and inspiration by disclosing what beauty really is. Each woman in this hard-cover coffee table book was gracious enough to allow Lisa to capture her image and also share a bit of her life's journey in the form of an intimate story, anecdote, or lesson learned - revealing who she is today, and the path it took to arrive.
